A Narrow Escape

A young man names John O’Halloran, a brakeman on the C. D. & M., had a very narrow escape, perhaps from death, Tuesday night. While employed in switching off cars at Brownsville, in descending from the roof of one of the cars the iron hold-bar on the end of the roof gave way, and let him fall. Fortunately he did not fall between the cars, but to the side. He fell across the switch and was badly hurt in the back and on the head, also having his left wrist sprained. He was left at Brownsville until the return of his train yesterday, when he was brought down to his home. His wounds are not dangerous, although painful.
