JANSEN FAMILY TO
KEEP ACTIVE IN
CONRAD CASE

Seek to Clear Good
Name of Susan Jansen,
One Held as Suspect

It is to be a fight to the finish on part of the Jansen family to completely clear the name of Susan Jansen, 20, of Dubuque and Kieler, Wis., originally charged with the murder of Leo Conrad of Dyersville, and against whom charges were dismissed for lack of evidence.

This was indicated by a statement issued Monday on behalf of the family of Carl Jansen, 2931 Washington Street, Dubuque. The statement reads:
“All members of the Jansen family will work and leave no stone unturned to the end that the murderer, if it was a murder, may be prosecuted and justice done, and that the absolute good name of Susan be restored to her.

Most unfortunately, the fact that she and she alone thus far has been arrested, leaves some room for thought that there was reason to suspect her. The family feels that her arrest was ill-advised, and uncalled for, and we will do all in our power to solve the mystery and completely vindicate Susan.”
