Sand Family from Luxembourg

I am trying to track down a family folklore about the Sand family arriving from Luxembourg in the 1850s-1860s. One legend has it that three Sand brothers came from Luxembourg in the above time frame; after a short period of time, two of the brothers returned, while one stayed. Supposedly, I am descended from one of the brothers who returned to Luxembourg. Can anyone help me sort this out? Thank You
