LAST ACT OF JUSTICE
~
A Happy Wedding in
Center Township
~
Mr. Paul Lattner, well known in this community, as an old time resident of Latternville, is about to give up his residence in that place and move to Worthington, to open a cooper’s shop. Paul has been one of the dispensers of justice in Center Township for some time and his last term expired on the last day of the last year. As a memorable event of his expiring term he united in marriage Mr. Dick Hitchcock and Miss Ann Barsterd of Wisconsin, at the residence of Sidney Hitchcock, two mile north of Latternville in the presence of Mrs. Wheeler, of Independence, Miss Josephine Andrews, C. Vanderberg and wife, C. H. Brant and wife, the Misses Doushes, Mr. Miller, Mr. Mallow, Mr. Schroeder, Mr. Doushes, and Messrs. J. and J. N. P. Lattner, the friends of the contracting party. It was a happy wedding party, and they ushered in the new year with becoming festivities. The groom was so pleased with the occasion that he promised to haul three loads of hoop poles to Worthington to pay for the marriage. We trust the young married couple will pass through life without bewrecking upon the obstructions of often found in the path of matrimony.
