COLORED PARTY – The colored residents of this city assembled last evening in the Chicago supply room in the Globe Building, and wiled away a few hours in the mazy dance, keeping time to the Coach Whip Band. Early in the evening the room was well filled but the presence of the obnoxious party, sent the high moral toned female portion home before eleven o’clock, and when we peeped in an hour afterwards, only one set was on the floor. Colored people are just like white folks, ‘I’m better than you” sticks out prominently and makes them unhappy.
