POLICE NEWS – Justice Cantillon yesterday gave his decision in the case of John and Patrick Sage. They were charged with an assault with intent to kill, on William Ryan. The court found the evidence insufficient to sustain this charge, but held the prisoners under bonds of $400 each, to await the action of the grand jury on the charge of assault with intent to commit great bodily injury. The case is now being investigated by the grand Jury.
