NINETEEN DEAD IN DUBUQUE HOTEL FIRE
The death of Burt LaCasey, 38, Brooklyn, on Wednesday brought the death total to 19 in Sundays Canfield Hotel fire in Dubuque.
One of four unidentified bodies was identified Wednesday as that of Milo J. Wagner, 51, Davenport.
A diamond ring and dental work led to establishment of his identity. He was identified by B. E. Draper, who was associated with Wagner in his work, and two Cedar Rapids women, Miss Eloise House and Miss Grace Hamer, who also had been connected with the concern. The three said he sometimes went under the name C. A. Browning.
About $10,000 in jewelry was discovered in the hotel apartment of the Canfield’s co-owner, William Canfield, Sr., said Leo A. Steffen, agent for the hotel company. Also found were war bonds with a face value totaling $575 and the last will of Mrs. Canfield.

Walters Injured in Hotel Tragedy.
ZWINGLE- Arden Walters was a guest at the Canfield Hotel, Dubuque, Sunday when it burned. Arden is now at Mercy Hospital recovering from a broken lower leg which he suffered after jumping into a net. Arden says he had gone to his room about 15 minutes when he heard the alarm and greatly appreciates his good fortune in being saved.
Miss Florence Faegre, who taught school in Zwingle two years ago was also registered at the hotel, but was out when the fire began
