Mr. Hugh Stott was a land owner in Section 29 of Iowa Township. Mr. Stott was born in England in 1824. His wife Sarah J. was a native of Pennsylvania, born in 1836. The Stott’s had a family of four: Anna B., Margaret J., Lenella and Milan. They farmed in the Farley area.

Mr. Stott sold his property in Section 29 to Mr. Pins about 1866. Hugh Stott was the proprietor of a large grain elevator which caught fire and burned in May of 1872.
