Clarence Schemmel (1898-1981), son of Anthony and Josephine May Schemmel, was born in Worthington. He married Mary Konzen (1897-1962) of Farley on Nov. 24, 1920. She was born at Holy Cross, Iowa. After their marriage they farmed near Farley.
Two daughters were born to this union: Helen Patricia Stoffel of Key West, Iowa and Kay M. "Gus" Thier of Dyersville.
