Francis Marion & Sarah Hammond (Kephart) Allen

Francis Marion Allen (1837-1929) married Sarah Hammond Kephart (1836-1927) in February 1860 in Cottage Hill. Sarah was born in Pennsylvania and to Cottage Hill with her parents when she was three. The Allen’s farmed, moving in later years to the Farley area where Francis was a carpenter and cabinet maker. Both Francis and Sarah are buried at Fairview Cemetery. They had eight children: Ada Frances (Mrs. John Glew), he died young, then (Mrs. Isaac McGee); Robert Levi (married Mary Small); Susan Elizabeth (Mrs. Frank Reinoehl); Francis Marion; Catherine Elmira (Mrs. Ansel Stuart); Margarett Levinia (Mrs. George Streif)-all lived in Farley. Miram Gertrude (Mrs. Ray Stuart) - lived in Colorado. Ann Viola (Mrs. George Armstrong)-lived in Farley, then later to Washington.
