Declared a Forgery

In the case of H. L. Dehner vs. James Houlihan, the absconding Prairie Creek farmer and stock-buyer, tried in the District Court last week, The Misses Callahan, Houlihan’s sister-in-law, swore that the mortgages upon which Houlihan secured money from the Cascade Bank, were forgeries, and Judge Husted ordered the cross petition against the Callahan’s dismissed. Judgement was rendered against Houlihan for $15,664.34, which includes other suits against him. Houlihan has disappeared as successfully as though he had dropped through an earthquake vent, and there were a large number of creditors, who would not loath to see him doing penal service for his misdeeds.
