SHOCKING ACCIDENT-Dr. Nitsche was summoned Friday to the bedside of a little six year old child, daughter of Mr. August Monday living just across the river from Eagle Point. He found that the little girl had been caught in the rolls of a sorghum cutter while playing around it as it was in motion. One arm of the poor child had been literally chewed up, quite to the elbow, and the shoulder and breast of the little sufferer showed that the vice like monster was just about to draw the body of the child in as its motion was stopped by the father of the girl, who happened to observe the child at that moment. The doctor found amputation at the shoulder imperative and by the aid of another physician the work was done, and the wound dressed. It is impossible at this writing to know what is to be her fate. The poor child may survive, but it is more probable she will not.
