The law on prairie chicken expired with the dawn of September 1st, since which time our local sportsmen have been waging remorseless war on the chickens on the prairie around Manchester. A party consisting of Will Hutchinson, Joseph Hoag and a Mr. Scott, of Dubuque, are spending the week camping and shooting. Leslie and E. H. Hoyt report eighteen chickens as the result of a short engagement Saturday afternoon
