A BUSY DAY FOR THE POLICE COURTS
August Kantz is a man whose capacity for undiluted bourbon is so great that he could drain all the wholesale liquor stores on Main Street, and then weep because of excessive thirst. On Tuesday night, August true to his old instincts, got very drunk, and on Wednesday morning he came forward to talk the little matter over with Justice Richter. The latter intimated that he must have a little money for the benefit of the city, but August put a stop to further negotiations by declaring that he was dead broke. He is now an acting working member of the chain gang.
