Dubuque Daily Times, Thursday, Aug 26, 1875, Dubuque, IA, Page: 4

James Cavanaugh was raked over the coals by Squire Leicke, yesterday morning, for drunkenness, and, being an old offender, James was taxed five dollars and costs, and sent down to the hospitable home the city has provided for such as he, where employment is furnished. James was put to work on a stone pile forthwith, but he found a chance to slide out and he scooted, and hasn’t been seen since.
