Mrs. Mary (Riesberg) Roling 1873-1964

Mrs. Mary Roling is dead; leaves 152 descendants.

Mrs. Mary Roling, 91, died at Sacred Heart hospital Monday after an illness which lasted several months.

She was born Jan. 6, 1873, at New Vienna, Iowa. She had resided in the Remsen community for 68 years.

Mary Reisberg and Fred Roling were married Oct. 6, 1896, at New Vienna and moved to Remsen, where he died in 1951.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary Catholic church, Remsen, with Msgr. F. P. Schultes officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Fisch funeral home is in charge of arrangements and the rosary will be recited there at 8 p.m. Monday evening, at 3 p.m. Tuesday by the Christian Mothers and at 8 p.m. Tuesday by the parish.

Survivors are her children; Mrs. Frank Nacke, Mrs. Tony Pick; Mrs. Paul Rosesch, Mrs. Albert Seifke and Mrs. Ernest Groepper, all of Remsen and Mrs. Aloys Tentinger, Marcus; her sons Larence Roling of Remsen and Gilbert Roling of Kingsley; 41 grandchildren, 102 great-grand-children and one great-great-grandchild. A sister, Mrs. Catherine Mescher, of Illinois, also survives.

She was preceded in death by her husband, two sons and a daughter.

Mrs. Roling was a member of the Christian Mother's Society and the Third Order of St. Frances.
