Next Tuesday’s Wedding

Cards of invitations were issued yesterday and the day before to a wedding which has been looked forward to with a rare degree of interest in all circles of Dubuque society, the parties being of much prominence, and their union so eminently happy in the estimation of their friends. The parties to this evenement, we need to print only for readers outside Dubuque, are Mr. M. M. Ham, editor of the Dubuque Herald, and Miss Rebecca M. Wells. Mr. Ham has received an easy pecuniary position for himself; but in the winning of the hand and the heart of the accomplished Miss Wells he is most to be congratulated, and we heartily congratulate him on his choice. The fair Rebecca is not less to be congratulated on her choice. The wedding takes place next Tuesday afternoon at four o’clock, at St. John’s Church, the Rev. C. H. Seymour officiating. Misses Laida Wilson, Lucy Waldo, and Virginia Lewis will be the bridesmaids, and Hon. F. O. O’Donnell, D. H. Conyngham, and Hon. John P. Irish of, the city of Iowa City Press, will be the groom’s best men. After the ceremony the bridal pair receive their friends at the residence of the bride’s sister on Main Street.
