A Wanderer Returns to Iowa
Sacramento, (Cal.) Record Union

William A. M. Thompson, of Quartz Valley, left for his home in Iowa last week. The old gentlemen had been absence from home twenty-five years, and during the whole time he has never heard from his family, nor they of him, and they had supposed him dead. He has been afflicted with rheumatism for several years and some of his friends here opened a correspondence with his people a short time since, which has resulted in them sending for him. When he came to California he left a wife and nine children, and now, after twenty-five years absence, he returns to find the family circle unbroken by death. He finds to welcome him his wife, the whole nine children, fifty grandchildren, three great-grandchildren.
