Steve O’Rourke Had Several Ribs
and a Arm Broken in a Smash
Up On Third Street

Steve O’Rourke employed as a driver of one of the teams for Martin Strelau Company, met with a very serious accident Monday afternoon. He was driving along the track of the Illinois Central on Third Street, when his team became frightened at the cars and started to run away. The driver was pitched out very badly. Mr. O’Rourke had his arm and five ribs broken, and sustained many other very painful injuries, and is in a very serious condition. The team ran away and did considerable damage to the wagon.

Mr. O’Rourke was removed to his home, 280 White Street, where a physician dressed his wounds and set the broken bones. The injured man is in bad shape and will be laid up for some time.
