ASSAULTS HIS MOTHER
~
Wm. Mahoney Used His fists to
Freely and Lands in the
Lockup
~
Wm. Mahoney occupies a cell at the police station as the result of being too free with his fists early last night. Mahoney came here from Omaha a few days ago to attend a funeral and yesterday began a flirtation with the flowing cup that finally resulted in his becoming boisterously drunk. About 7:30 o’clock he went to the residence occupied by his mother on Couler Avenue and demanded admittance. As soon as he was let in he assaulted his mother and was still beating her when a number of railroad men, who were attracted to the house by the woman’s screams, reached the scene of the trouble, and after getting Mahoney under control he was taken to the police station where he made night hedious with his screams.
