BOATS ARE RUNNING
~
Raft Steamers Pass Down Stream
And the teal Enters the
Up River Trade
~
The river at this point is still coming up, registering 9:08 today at the bridge. Two big log rafts passed down last night in charge of the raft steamers Chauncey Lamb, the Vivian Bernice and the Artemus Gates. The splendid stage of water makes rafting very easy. The steamer Teal, which has been in winter quarters in the ice harbor, steamed up yesterday, backed out and passed up to Eagle Point, preparatory to entering into the Potosi trade. The boat will run regularity between the city and the Wisconsin town this season the same is heretofore and will make schedule time.
