At a meeting held yesterday afternoon in the city hall, the members of the police department organized a mutual benefit and protective association. Every member of the force except two were present at the meeting. After a short discussion of the objects of the organization the policemen decided that such a society should have been organized a long time ago. A committee consisting of Sergeants Reilly and Scherr and Officers Ryan P. Sullivan and Zeldman were appointed to draft a constitution and by-laws and report at the next meeting.

Officers for the ensuing year were elected as follows;
President-Officer P. Mulligan
Vice-President-Capt. P. Craugh
Recording Secretary-Officer P. Pfeffer
Financial Secretary-Capt. Raesli
Trustees-Officers P. Hanlon, M. Connors and James Carter

The membership at present includes all but two of the members of the department, the major, market master and pound master.
