Run Away Accident 1901

Dubuque Daily Telegraph – Feb. 4, 1901

In a runaway accident Saturday afternoon on Clay Street Jacob Kerns, a farmer residing eight miles west of Dubuque, and William Reving, of this city, were seriously injured. Kerns was driving up Clay Street when his team was frightened by a passing car and precipitated the occupants out of the wagon onto the street with great force. Reving suffered a fractured arm; Kerns was injured about the head.
