ANOTHER CITIZEN GONE – Departed the life of simple blessedness in this city last Friday evening, Captain Fred Dettmer in the prime of life. No more will occupy that one-horse lounge in the post office because he is gone where all sensible men go, to trot in double harness. He was married to Miss Mary Amberg. The happy couple started on a wedding tour to Davenport early yesterday morning. Fred is employed as a distributing clerk in the Post Office and is deserving of a good wife. In the natural course of events he will likely be troubled with all kinds of mails, the late and the early, the large and the small, not expecting females. If he is a little late in coming down the avenue in the morning, we hope his fellow workmen will excuse him.
