ARCHITECTURAL ORNAMENT – While in the establishment of Messrs. P. Klauer & Bros., on Iowa Street, yesterday, we were shown some fine specimens of cornice work being done to surmount the fronts of buildings now in construction. The first is for the Ryder & Sheffield Block, on Main Street; we have mentioned this cornice before, but there is another portion of it not yet completed, a balustrade several feet high extending along the entire top of the main cornice, a distance of forty-two feet; it is manufactured after a handsome pattern, and will add much to the appearance of the block . The other cornice is for the brick building on Iowa Street, between 12th and 13th for LaNicca, the druggist, like the other it is of zinc, and equally well executed.
