Dubuque Weekly Observer – July 15, 1854

Mr. C. J. Chapline, whose name appears as one of the firm in the Prospectus of the Observer, it will be seen, by a reference to the head of our paper, has withdrawn his name, not because he is unfriendly to the enterprise, but because, having a desire to accumulate wealth, he fancied it could bee easier done in a Broker's office than in a printing office-we think, he is about half-right. See his advertisement on third page.
