DISTILLERY MATTERS – We learn that Rhomberg & Co. distillery will suspend operation for a while, owing to the high price of corn, and the enormous whiskey tax, which leaves very little, if any, profit after paying for the raw material. We have also learned that Jaeger & Co. has ceased operations for their distillery for a while. Corn has reached a high price, and shippers cannot realize any on it at present figures.
