Dubuque Democratic Herald – Aug. 9, 1864

HUNTING PARTY – Hunting party, composed of Sam Cox, Richard Cox, Capt. Levins, Theodore Snyder, of St. Louis , and Mr. Biais, of Prairie de Rocher, Ill., and Master Cox, left by yesterday morning’s train for Independence where they propose to have a grand chicken hunt. They were provided with a full outfit for camping, and expect to have a week’s fine sport – sport to them but death to the game.
