CORPUS CHRISTI
~
Last Sunday was a great day for the inhabitants of Tetes des Morts, twelve miles from town, who celebrated the anniversary of Corpus Christi in a manner that reminded one of continental times. The citizens to the number of 2,500 assembled at the church, and, after service in German and English by Rev. Father Flavin, marched in procession, chanting and singing psalms along the road strewn with wild flowers and green boughs to a place where the altars were erected, where ceremonies customary on such occasion were held. All this time cannon were booming and the exercises were of unusual interest. A number were present from town and were highly interested with the proceedings.
