Serious Accident
~
Hon. Andrew Bahl, of Centralia, Center Township, ex-representative, while returning home from this city last Saturday afternoon, met with an accident which is likely to prove quite serious. He had left his team and wagon, which were followed by several others, in charge of his son, and was following them and had reached the bridge just beyond the farm of Mr. R. Bonson on the Asbury Road, when he was knocked down and run over by a runaway team belonging to Mr. Patrick McGheehan, which he had not noticed before, owing to the noise created by several other wagons in jostling over the rough road. One wheel of the wagon passed over his right leg and broke the shin bone thereof, and the other wheel broke his left collar bone. Besides, he sustained many serious contusions about the body, and was rendered senseless. He was taken to his home, and Dr. Schwind of this city summoned. In the opinion of the latter Mr. Bahl’s injuries are but temporary.
