Callahan, Cyril A. (Bernard, IA, May 29, 1906 - Dubuque, IA, Nov. 8, 1995). Founder. South End Club. One of Dubuque's many noteworthy citizens, Callahan was nicknamed "mayor" of the southern end of Dubuque. The owner of a Phillips 66 Service Station for 26 years and the Callahan Dry-Ice Co. for twenty-seven years, Callahan was a member of the Dubuque Rescue Mission's board of directors.
