PINNED UNDER TRACTOR

Cascade, Ia. April 8 – Special: Matt. Lux, a young farmer residing on a farm between Cascade and Farley, was the victim of an unusual accident late Saturday afternoon.

When attending to some repairs underneath on the clutch of his tractor it was suddenly thrown into reverse, causing the tractor to pass over his right leg. The disc prevented the tractor from passing clear of the victim’s leg and he was pinned there for nearly three hours.

Neighbors had seen the tractor standing in the field and thought it seemed unusual, his cries were finally heard by the Bradley brother, who was cutting timber nearby. They had also seen him signaling from under the tractor. He was at one extricated and rushed to a physician’s office, where 25 stitches were required to close the gash in his leg. He is ill from shock and loss of blood. His neighbors are planning to finish his spring seeding and plowing.
