GEORGE SALOT, Deputy Sheriff of Dubuque County, Dubuque; is a native of France and was born March 15, 1837; when 16 years of age, he came to America, and came to Dubuque in 1853, and since then has resided here; he has held the office of City Recorder and Wharfmaster; he was appointed Deputy Sheriff and has held that office since Jan. 1, 1872, and is a courteous and popular officer.
