W. N. SALMON DIED AT CROFTON, NEBRASKA

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon for W. N. Salmon, of Crofton, Neb., who passed away at his home on Thursday, October 30, 1941, following a long illness. Services were conducted by Rev. Serrill, of the Christian church, of Spencer, at the Leyson funeral parlors in Milford, with burial in the Milford cemetery. During the services a quartette composed of Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Terry, J. E. Mitts, and Mrs. Fred Eachen of Fostoria, sang two selections. Pallbearers were T. E. Rute, Geo. Anderson, A. J. Nicol, Jas. McDonald, Roy Bever and Marian Lawson, all neighbors of the Salmon family when they resided west of Milford. Mrs. Geo. Anderson and Mrs. Roy Bever arranged the flowers.

William Nelson Salmon was born at Dubuque, Iowa, March 14, 1861, and passed away at his home in Crofton, Neb., on October 30, 1941, of a lingering illness, at the age of 80 years, 7 months and 16 days. When a child he moved with his parents to Pattonsburg, Mo. On January 1, 1885, he was married to Ida Alice Daniel. They moved to Norfolk, Neb., in 1906, where they resided until they moved to Crofton. They farmed in that community with the exception of 5 years that they lived on a farm west of Milford. His wife and eight children survive. He was the father of 5 sons and 5 daughters. Two sons, Everet and Hershel, preceded him in death. The surviving children are Mrs. Bert Walton, Spencer; Mrs. W. B. Hight, Brighton, Colo.; Orville Salmon, Webb; Virgie Salmon, Ontario, California; Mrs. Fred Wahl, of Chicago; Mrs. Walter Holder, Chino, Calif.; Mrs. Fred Kracht, Spencer; Fred Salmon, Fostoria. There are 33 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and one brother, Walter Salmon, Pattonsburg, Missouri; one sister, Mrs. John Murphy, Hugo, Calif.; and a host of relatives and friends.

He was a kind husband and a loving father and will be greatly missed in his home.
