FUNERAL SERVICES HELD HERE FOR IDA SALMON TUESDAY

Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 in the Methodist church for Mrs. William Salmon, who passed away Saturday at the home of her son, Fred Salmon, at Royal. Rev. Serrill of Spencer had charge of the services. Pallbearers were Billy Bowes of Webb, George Anderson of Milford, Ray Lamb of Spirit Lake, and Kenneth Paxton and John Feldhacker of Spencer. During the services, Mrs. N. J. Williams sang “The City Four Square” and “In the Sweet By and By.” Mrs. George Anderson and Mrs. Francis Johnson arranged the flowers.

Ida Alice Salmon, daughter of Rev. Pleasant Daniel and Lucilla Bennett, was born in Harrison county, Mo., on June 24, 1865, and departed from this life on Saturday, Oct. 19, at the age of 81 years, three months and 25 days, at the home of her youngest son, Fred, and his wife, Florence, at Royal.

When a young girl she united with the Christian church.

She was united in holy matrimony Jan. 1, 1885, to William Nelson Salmon, who preceded her in death Oct. 30, 1941. To this happy home, 10 children were born. Two sons, Herschel and Everett, also preceded her in death. She leaves to mourn her death, one foster brother, Doc Daniel, of Compton, Calif., and eight children, Beulah Walton of Monterey, Calif., Orville of Hartley, Virgil of Ontario, Calif., Ethel Hight of Brighton, Colo., Austie Holder of Riverside, Calif., Artie Wahl of Chicago, Dortha Kracht of Spencer, and Fred of Royal. There are also 33 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, and a host of other relatives.
