DIED. Miller. In Spirit Lake, February 1, Samuel B. Miller, aged 78 years.

This event was expected for some time. Mr. and Mrs. Miller went back to the old Pennsylvania home on a visit early in October. While in the east a limb that has given him much trouble in recent years kept Mr. Miller in bed much of the time, and brought him home in a considerably depleted condi-tion. The inevitable was soon apparent to the family and friends, and dropsy soon brought him low. Calmly and uncomplainingly the old veteran approached the end and unconditionally surrendered to the eternal decrees.

Samuel B. Miller was born in Cumberland county, Pennsylvania. On Christmas Day, 1851, he was united in matrimony with Mary Louisa Bricker, of Newville, in the same state, who for fifty-eight years has been to him a treasure of value inestimable in all his varying fortunes. To this union was given eleven children: Libbie, (Mrs. J. W. Chestnut) John W. and Frank Miller, now deceased. Mrs. Annie Miller Betts, of San Diego, California; Park, of Long Beach, in same state; Samuel, of Minnesota, Charles, of Washington; George, Robert and William, of Spirit Lake; and Fred, of Sheldon, survive.
