Spirit Lake Beacon, Spirit Lake, Dickinson, Iowa, USA February 22, 1996

Funeral services were held for Lenard Froendt. age 76. on August 26, 1995 at Huntington Beach Community Methodist Church in Huntington Beach, Calif. Officiating the services was Dr. David G. Rogne.

Lenard Froendt was born May 19, 1919 to George and Faye (Titterington) Froendt in rural Milford. He received his education in the rural Dickinson County and Milford public schools. He later graduated from Arnolds Park High School. He then enlisted in the U.S. Army and served for over three and half years in the South Pacific Islands during World War II. After being discharged, he moved to Monterey Park, Calif, where he met and married Dorothy Wright on June 18, 1949. To this union three daughters were born.

He worked many years for Broadway Stores, first as a TV repairman, and then several years as manager of a large divisional household appliance depot. Later he entered sales work at the Cerritos, Calif. Broadway location. Lenard and Dorothy made there first home at Monterey Park,
Calif., and in later years moved to Fountain Valley, Calif. Lenard was always interested the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Masonic Lodge. e was always a good friend to all and loved to be with his family and grandchildren. He also enjoyed woodworking and helping his son-in-laws remodel there homes in the area. e especially liked to travel and vacation with his children and grandchildren.

Surviving are his wife, Dorothy of Fountain Valley, Calif.; and also his three daughters, Kathy Fox and husband Fred of Placentia, Calif., Mary Belcher and her husband Bruce of Huntington Beach, Calif., and Jackie Belin and husband Rick of Temecula, Calif. There also are six grandchildren, Kendra and Brad Fox, Lauren and Leyna Belcher, and Michelle and Jeff Belin. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister. Lucile Shorey of Spirit Lake.

Interment was at the Good Shepard Cemetery in Huntington Beach, Calif., with Dildey Bros Mortuary of Huntington Beach was in charge of arrangements.
