ROGERS. In Spirit Lake, on the
20th instant, Samuel R. Rogers,
aged 84 years.
Tired nature longer refused to perform the functions of the body, and Father Rogers passed into the beyond.

Deceased was born in Connecticut. Came to Illinois in 1855, and to this county in 1862. Nine years later he returned to Illinois, but at the death of his wife three years ago, he came back here, and has since lived with his daughter, Mrs. J. H. Daughty. Mrs. Daughty and Mrs. George Kellogg are the only surviving children known here. Father Rogers was a soldier of the Rebellion, and has drawn a pension for a long time past. He is mentioned by old neighbors as a worthy man.
