Herman O. Taylor Aug. 13, 1906 - Feb. 1, 1994

Funeral services for Herman 0. Taylor, 87, were held Saturday, February 5, 1994, at Calvary United Methodist Church in Arnolds Park, with Rev, Scott Holmes and John Maylum officiating the services. Music was provided by. Vera Marshall, Organist

Herman Oliver Taylor, the son of George Brinton McClellon Taylor and Nancy Ann Williams Taylor, was born August 13, 1906, at Sloan, Iowa. He attended rural school near Hartley, Iowa. He was united in marriage to Ruth Roskammer on August 28, 1929. They farmed near Primghar, Iowa for several years then moved to Oregon, returning to Arnolds Park, Iowa when he was drafted into the armed services. He served in the United State Navy as Gunner's Mate Second Class for 21 months. While there he received three Bronze Stars for the Philippine Liberation, also participated in Balik Papan, Broncs operation.

Upon returning from service, he was Chief of Police in Arnolds Park for 2 years, ran a Coffee Shop in the Amusement Park for 5 years, and an Arboreous for 18 years. He moved to Minneapolis, MN, in 1974 and became a service manager for Sidal Reality for 10 years. He retired in 1985 and moved back to Spirit Lake, Iowa. He was a member of American Legion post in Milford.

He passed away at Hilltop Care Center at the age of 87 on February 1, 1994.

Preceding him in death were his parents, 4 brothers, and 4 sisters.

Survivors include his wife Ruth; 3 sons, Royse and his wife Joyce of Richardson, TX; Roger and his wife Linda of Santaquin, Utah; and Larry and his wife Dixie of St. Paul, Mn; 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 4 sisters: Esther, Leola, Marie, and Gretchen.

Pallbearers: Gaylord Taylor, Don Enderson, Quentin Taylor, Del Leiss, Harlan Christenson, Donald Sander.

Interment was held at Okoboji Cemetery in Arnolds Park, Iowa. Turner Funeral Home of Milford was in charge of arrangements
