Services for Elmer Halbur were ion Feb. 3, 1998 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Milford, with Rev. Patrick J. O'Kane, Presider.

Elmer Peter Halbur was born to John Henry and Anna Catherine Halbur (Graf) on May 14, 1930 in Ione, Minn. He grew up in the Lakes region where he received his early education.

Mr. Halbur was united in marriage to Karen Welch on July 24, 1972, at Milford. He had a variety of jobs in the lakes region. He drove a milk truck for the Sioux Valley Creamery for one year, worked for Bud's Champlin for 13 years as an auto mechanic and tow truck driver. In 1987, he moved to Milford where he managed his own auto repair and tow truck business. He then purchased a snow removal and lawn care business. Mr Halbur moved to Arnolds Park three years later.

Mr Halbur passed away on Jan. 30, 1998 at St. Luke's Regional Medical Center in Sioux City, after a long illness.

In his spare time, he loved to roller skate, bowl, play cards, go to Jackpot junction, and most of all, spend time with his family and many friends.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife Karen of Arnolds Park; Children: Gary Kinkade (Halbur) and his wife Sue of Waterloo, Nancy Stutter and her husband, Eddie of Waterloo, Doug Kinkade (Halbur) and his wife Irene of Dysart, David Kinkade (Halbur) and his wife Brenda of Traer, Laurie Halbur, Mike Halbur, Craig Halbur, Duane Halbur, Shane Halbur of Milford, Tanya Halbur of Arnolds Park, Diane Musser and her husband, Jerry of Spencer, Cindy Konrady and her husband Rick of Spencer, Randy Miller and his wife, Kim of Derby Kan.; 30 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Survivors also include his sister, Alma Arndt and Guy Daly of Spencer; brother, Clarence Halbur and his wife, Josephine of Milford; sister Cec Muellerliele of Minneapolis, Minn., and sister Marion Knoll and her husband, LeRoy of Biscay. Minn.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Leo Halbur, daughter, Penny Halbur, three brothers-in-law, and three grandchildren.
