Mrs. Daniel Bennett died Tuesday at the home of her son, Quartermaster H.J. Bennett, at the soldiers home, Marshalltown. She was nearly ninety
years of age and succumbed to grip complications after a week's illness. Mrs. Bennett was a native of New York. With her husband, Daniel Bennett, who passed to his reward ten years since, she came to this county in 1861. They took as a homestead the Dixon Beach property, the site of the noted summer hotel, The Inn. Later the family had a home on a farm in Lakeville township for many years.

Mr. and Mrs. Bennett resided in this county until 1893, when they went to Des Moines to make their home with the son above mentioned, who is the
only surviving child. Grandma Bennett is kindly remembered by the older residents of this county. The remains arrived here yesterday morning for
interment, accompanied by a grandson, H. A. Bennett, of Des Moines.
