MRS. EFFIE JEPPESON, LONG TIME RESIDENT, DIES SAT. MORNING

Mrs. Effie Jeppeson, a resident of the Milford community for 65 years, died at her home, at Pocahontas Point, Saturday, Jan. 30, 1954, at four o'clock in the morning. Last rites for Mrs. Jeppeson were conducted from the home at 1:30 o'clock, Monday afternoon, and from Union Memorial church at two o'clock that afternoon. Rev. Maurice M. Frevert officiated, with burial in Milford cemetery.

Pall bearers were Roy DePue, Howard Boers, Charles Ploss, Barney Boers, Gilbert Gottsche and Fred Gross. The flowers were arranged by Mrs. Freda Nicol, Mrs. Fred Gross, Mrs. Frank Hemphill and Miss Augusta Ploss. Mrs. Dwight Hemphill was soloist, singing two hymns, "The Old Rugged Cross" and "No Night There”, with Mrs. Frank Fellows as accompanist.

Effie May Ulrich Jeppeson, youngest daughter of Conrad and Sarah Jane Ulrich, was born April 20, 1880, at Tipton, Iowa, Cedar county, and passed away at her home on Pocahontas Point, West Okoboji, near Milford, Iowa, at four o'clock in the morning, Jan. 30, 1954. She was 73 years of age.

After the death of her mother, she moved with her father to Ida Grove, Iowa, where she attended school. In 1889, she came to Milford and made her home with her brother, Charles. She was united in marriage to Daniel Jeppeson, June 25, 1902, at Milford, Iowa. To this union four daughter, Gertrude, Beulah, Coila and Helen, were born.

Effie Jeppeson, "Grandma" to many of the younger generation, and loved by all who knew her, made her home open to all, and she was always ready to lend a helping hand in time of need.

Preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two brothers, Charles and Harve Ulrich, and one sister, Mrs. Anna Arthur, she leaves to mourn her passing her four daughters, Gertrude Schaeffer, Scottsbluff, Neb.; Beulah Jeppeson, at home; Coila Titterington, Milford, and Helen Dean, Milford; also four grandchildren, who held an uppermost place in her heart. Besides these, two brothers, Alva Ulrich of Kallspell, Mont., and Harry Ulrich of Houston, Texas, several nieces and nephews, and a multitude of loving friends.
