ROBERT A. HOPE CALLED TO REST

PASSED AWAY AT HIS SPIRIT LAKE HOME MONDAY EVENING

Robert A. Hope, who has been a resident here for the past sixteen years died Monday evening at six o'clock in his home on Spirit Lake. Mr. Hope came home on Thursday evening of last week from his road trip suffering from a slight cold and while he took to his bed it was not thought serious by those closest to him. He continued to grow weaker until the final summons, notwithstanding all that wife, friends and medical skill could do to combat the affliction.

Masonic funeral services were conducted from the home this afternoon at 3 o'clock. Interment was made in the Lake View cemetery.

Robert A. Hope is survived by his widow, Fanny S. Hope, and by his two sons, Alfred and Will, of Chicago and Kansas City, respectively.

Mr. Hope was formerly a resident of St. Joseph, Mo., and was in the furnishing goods business there from 1875 to 1892. Since then he has traveled principally through Iowa and adjacent states representing Daniel Hays & Co. and Julius Kayser, both eastern glove houses.

Mr. Hope would thus have summed up his life -

Born in Kentucky.

Served in the Confederate army.

Died in Spirit Lake, June 14, 1920.
