Ronald G. Bliesener, 79, of Burlington, died at his home.
He was born to Rudolph Henry and Helen Lillian Russell Bliesener. On November 18, 1947, he married Roberta J. Gabeline in Burlington.
Mr. Bliesener worked as a photographer for The Hawk Eye, at Iowa Wesleyan College for two years, at J.I. Case Company, and at Metropolitan life Insurance until retirement in 1987.
He was a member of First United Church of Christ and graduated from Burlington High School in 1942. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in Australia and the Philippines for three and half years. He was a member of the Moose and Eagles. He received many awards for his photography, he was a charter member of the Iowa Press Photograph Association and wrote the column "Roaming with Ron" for The Hawk Eye.
Survivors include his wife; sons, Jerry, Richard, and Bob, all of Burlington and Ronald Thomas of Fairfield; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Sanford "Sonny" R. of Burlington; sister, Dorothy Mae "Breezy" of Burlington; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The funeral was held at Lunning Chapel, with the Rev. JudyAnn Morse officiating.
