Farmer Dies on Way to Doctor
Albert N. McColloch, 46, Passes Away in Automobile -- Exhaustion Believed Cause
Albert N. McColloch. 46, farmer living near here, died while being taken to a local doctor in an automobile yesterday morning. The car was at a filling station at the corner of Hawkeye and Washington streets when his death, which is ascribed to exhaustion, occurred.
Mr. McColloch had been ill for three months and his nurse, Mrs. Harry Stanberry of West Burlington, and his son, Orville, were in the car with him.
The McColloch home is a short distance north of Burlington just across from Hawkeye school.
Mr. McColloch was born on a farm north of Burlington July 10, 1883, the son of Mr. and Mrs. N. A. McColloch. He was married in 1915 to Miss Dora Pogemiller, who survives him. He was a member of the Methodist church.
Besides his widow he is survived by five children, Orville, 13; Elsie, 10; Vivian, 8; Albert N., Jr., 5, and Dale, 2; his mother, Mrs. Ida McColloch of Burlington; two brothers, Clarence and Ray McColloch of Burlington, and one sister, Mrs. Blanche Wilson of Burlington. His father preceded him in death seven months ago.
The body was taken to Prugh's chapel and funeral arrangements will be announced later.
