Anne Agnes Waddell, 82, of Burlington, died at 10:44 a.m. Thursday, March 9, 2006, at her home.

Born February 8, 1924, in Nauvoo, Illinois, she was the daughter of Frederick William and Anna Angela Bergmeier Lange. On February 12, 1942, she married James Edward Waddell in Nauvoo. He died November 20, 1988.

Mrs. Waddell was a cosmetologist, homemaker and worked in production for Antenna Craft.

She was a member of SS. John and Paul Catholic Church. She loved gardening and enjoyed the outdoors and fishing on the river.

Survivors include two sons, James Leonard Waddell of Peoria, Illinois, and Gary Lee Waddell of Burlington; one daughter, Mary Swanson of Burlington; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mary Stowell of Tacoma, Washington and Teresa Soppe of Ft. Madison.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, one son, two brothers and five sisters.

There will be no visitation. Her body has been cremated according to her wishes.

Fr. William Wiegand will officiate, with inurnment in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
