Morning Sun (IA) -- Elgy Cordell Deam, 69, died June 6, at 3:10 a.m., in the Ross nursing home, where she had been a patient since suffering a broken hip in August 1948.

Death was caused by a cerebral hemorrhage, suffered the previous week.

Miss Deam was the daughter of James K. and Jane Hunter Deam, and was born in Des Moines county on August 12, 1881. She was a ________________Mediapolis vicinity.

Surviving are 4 brothers and a sister: Fred and Bert Deam and Mrs. Pearl Ernest, all of Wapello; Frank Deam, Mediapolis, and Clarence Deam, of Morning Sun.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Methodist church of Mediapolis. Reverend Gerald M. Rosenberger will officiate, and burial will be in Kossuth cemetery.

The body is at the Pierce funeral home, in Morning Sun.
