Catherine Boland was born in County Wexford, Ireland on 10/2/1840, and came to this city when she was 25 years old in April 1865. She was married in this city on 10/20/1865 to Patrick Daly, who preceded her in death with two sons. She made her home at 924 N 4th St since coming to Burlington. She was a member of St Pauls Catholic church. Mrs Daly is survived by 3 daughters: Mrs. Etta Bowman, of Rushville, IL; Mrs. J.H. Collins of Seattle, Washington; and Miss Mary Daly at home; and 3 sons: J.J Daly of Chicago, P.F. Daly, and M.W. Daly, both of Burlington.

Notes: Catherine Boland, according to family stories, came to the USA with Bridget and Sarah Daly (sisters of Patrick Daly). In the Des Moines County Marrage Book #6, Catherine is listed as "Catharine Boylen" and Patrick as "Patrick Daily".
