Clarence W. Stumpf, 92, of Burlington, died at 7:10 p.m. Monday, July 29, 2002, at his home.

Born July 27, 1910, in Burlington, he was the son of Adolph and Kate Weyer Stumpf. he married Constance Seiberling in Burlington. She died in January 1940. He married Ethel M. Brust-Riffel on Aug 14, 1971, in Delmar.

Mr. Stumpf was an electrical contractor. He owned and operated Stumpf Electric.

He was a member of Sts. Mary & Patrick Catholic Church. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed playing cards.

Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Nancy A. Stanbary of St. Charles, Ill; one stepdaughter, Sheryl Thogerson of Davis,Ill; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Besides his first wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and two brothers.

His body has been cremated.

Visitation will begin at 8 a.m. today at the Hass Funeral Home where a rosary will be recited at 3 p.m. Following a 6:30 p.m. Christian wake service, the family will receive friends until 8 p.m.

The memorial Mass of the resurrection for Mr. Stumpf will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at St. Mary Catholic Church in West Burlington, with the Rev. Patrick J. Hilgendorf officiating. Inurnment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Memorials have been established for his church and St. Vincent de Paul Society.
