Florence "Flo" Smith

West Burlington - Florence "Flo" Smith, 75, of West Burlington, died Saturday, April 10, 2021 peacefully at home.

Born June 28, 1945 she was the daughter of Joseph and Bertha (Parks) Grimmett. She married Johnny Earl Smith. He died March 14, 1995.

Flo worked as a cashier and in customer service at Lowe's for 24 years until her retirement in October 2019.

Flo was a HUGE Cubs fan, her favorite of course being Anthony Rizzo. She loved people and was very loved by all who worked with her and knew her. She truly was one-of-a-kind.

She is survived by her two daughters Stacy (Richard) Duffy of Burnside, Illinois and Rebecca "Becky" Smith of Burlington; two sisters Donna Grimmett and Janet Johnston and one brother John Grimmett.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two sons, Johnny V. Smith and Heath Smith.

The funeral service for Flo will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 17th at Lunning Chapel. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Cremation will be accorded following the funeral service. The graveside inurnment will be held Monday, April 19th at Greenwood Cemetery, rural West Burlington.
